Dreams of Ecstasy edition by Francine Craft Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
the book has a good plot and mystery. but the author continually re-states the same information. i got half way through the book and gave up. i am interested in knowing the end, but i can continue to put myself through reading the same thing up to four times.
There were quite a few mistakes in this book, Marry was used instead of Marty. Also hi was used instead of in. Another thing about this book I felt like I read some sections more than once, hopefully this can be corrected. The book was good and I did enjoy reading Dreams of Ecstasy. I did purchase other books by this author so I can enjoy them as well.
I purchased this book on without heeding the reviews. There were quite a few typos. I finally figured out that every time I saw the word Marry, it should have read Marty. How the editor didn't catch that I don't now. Also, there was no indication that Caitlin was reminiscing - there were several instances in the book were i found myself saying "where did this or that statement come from". Again, very difficult to follow. It just did not flow for me. I read authors like Kimberla Lawson Roby, Francis Ray, Brenda Jackson and Jacquelin Thomas that some times have long plots, but they all stay on track and were easy to follow. What actually did it in for me is when Rita died and Det. Draper cursed by blaspheming God's name. That did it for me.
This could have been an incredible book. But there were entirely too many errors to mention. I am seriously considering requesting a refund. The story could have been enjoyable but everyone was trying to create a baby. That is the jest of story. Then there was the i know you love me but i could never love like I loved my first husband. Will not recommend until a publisher has a chance to proof and edit!
Even though they were many in number, I was able to look past the mistyped and clearly incorrect words all throughout the book. What bothered me most was that the dialogue was so CORNY, cheesy, and unbelievable. Real people don't talk to each other that way!! Also, it took forever and two days to get to the point in any scene/conversation. I found myself skipping around sometimes to get to the next event. The storyline had sooo much potential, but this book just didn't do it for me. I'm glad I only paid $0.99 for this novel!
This book was ok. I loved the characters Caitlin & Marty however the book had so much going on, that the story line with them was over shadowed for me. I was some what disappointed in the way the book was written, because at times I felt it was boring and lacked interests. I did read to the end, because I was curious to Marty secret; but even that was a let down , based on the details of this secret thru out the book I was expecting something bigger. If you are looking for something just to read...this may be the book for you. However if you are looking for a page turner.. I would not recommend this book.
I enjoyed the plot very much. The writing not so much. I experienced periods of boredom and really wanted to finish the book, just to be done with it. Caitlin was so frustrating and Marty seemed to be hailed Mr. Perfect. In any case, it was okay. Meh.
